Dr. Basi was born in India and immigrated to the United States at the age of 2. She was valedictorian of her high school class and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of California, Davis. She attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, then moved back to California for her residency at Adventist Health White Memorial, Los Angeles. Dr. Basi joined Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics in 2007. She is proud to have a positive impact on her patients and families. When not at work, she enjoys dancing, playing badminton, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Bhuller has always felt a pull toward medicine and helping children, so becoming a pediatrician was the natural choice. She has spent most of her life caring for family and volunteering time to help others. Her studies brought her to medical school at the Medical University of the Americas and then to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she completed her residency. She joined the practice in 2018. Dr. Bhullar is an avid runner and cyclist and enjoys hiking and reading.
Dr. Chiong attended medical school at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York, and completed his residency at NYU Langone Medical Center/Bellevue Emergency Medicine in New York City. He joined Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics in 2001. He has a special interest in treating children with sports-related issues, including asthma, and uses his interests in travel and sports to engage with his patients on a personal level. Dr. Chiong approaches patient care as a privilege and feels that being able to contribute to children’s lives and well-being makes pediatrics the best job he could ask for.
Dr. Gowan received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her MS in biophysics and physiology from Georgetown University. She attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles. Dr. Gowan joined Pediatric Associates in 2015, then transferred to the Tri- Valley in 2022. Dr. Gowan’s special interests include general pediatrics, pediatric infectious diseases, vaccine education, and obesity prevention. In her free time, she enjoys playing and taking walks with her labradoodle, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. She is fluent in Punjabi.
Dr. Lembach attended medical school at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, where she graduated third in her class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Pediatric Residency in Los Angeles. Dr. Lembach has been with Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics since 1998. She lives in the Tri-Valley area with her husband and two children and is active in her community. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, art, spending time with her family, traveling, and hiking.
Dr. Werne received her medical degree from the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, and completed her residency training at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. During medical school, she had the opportunity to practice in all areas of medicine, both surgical and nonsurgical, and knew that pediatrics was where she could make the biggest difference. Throughout her education, she received academic awards of excellence, including being elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduating with honors. Dr. Werne has worked for Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics since 2003. Her professional interests include asthma and developmental pediatrics. She is married with two children and believes that being a mother has made her a more empathetic pediatrician.
Staci Sampo is a certified registered nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, and worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland for eight years before joining Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics in 1999. Her professional interests include nutrition, asthma, and breastfeeding. After realizing there was a need for breastfeeding support of new moms and babies, she became a lactation counselor, and in 2002 she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
