Frequently Asked Questions about Pregnancy and Newborn Classes

Will my insurance cover the cost of these pregnancy and newborn classes?

Individual health insurance policies and reimbursements vary greatly. Please contact your insurance provider to confirm your benefits for reimbursement. If our childbirth education classes are a covered benefit, please email LPCHCommunityClass@stanfordchildrens.org upon completion of all courses, and we will provide you with a detailed invoice receipt that you can file for reimbursement. The detailed invoice receipt will include: classes taken, name of attendee, registration fees paid, and Tax ID.

Is there a discount if I take multiple classes?

We have a couple of curated perinatal package options available to expectant families who want to take multiple classes. You can find them on our website.

The website shows one ticket remaining, but I only see the option to join a waitlist and cannot register.

This happens if a previously full class now has a spot that was canceled and there is an available spot now pending for someone on the waitlist. Each waitlist released spot has 24 hours to be claimed, but it is reserved for those on the waitlist and cannot be registered for on the website, which is why you may have seen that discrepancy. Please join the waitlist, and if a spot is released to you, you will be notified via an email from Eventbrite.

How many people can come to class?

One ticket allows for two people to attend. If you would like to bring more than two people to class, please purchase additional tickets.

When will you post more classes?

Our pregnancy and newborn classes are posted on a quarterly basis. It is recommended to take most of our classes in your third trimester. If you are finding us earlier in your pregnancy and want to stay updated when new perinatal classes are posted, please fill out our interest form.

Are there scholarships available?

We have scholarships available for those who need them. Please email us at LPCHCommunityClass@stanfordchildrens.org for more information. You will be asked to fill out a form with some basic information.

How do I reschedule or cancel a class?

Canceling more than 48 hours before the start of the class: If you need to cancel a class up to 48 hours prior to the start of your class, you are eligible to receive a refund back to your original payment method. To cancel a class, please refer to your registration confirmation email. Under Order Summary, you will find a link to “View and manage your order.” This link will take you to an Eventbrite page where you can cancel your class and request a refund.

Canceling within 48 hours of the start of the class: No refunds or changes to class dates can be made 48 hours before the start of the class. If there is an unforeseen circumstance, we will evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

Rescheduling your class: To reschedule a class, please cancel your original registration and reregister for a future date.
