Pediatrics
“What brings me joy as a physician is getting to be there for so many life stages.”
It was on a medical mission trip in the Dominican Republic that my desire to work in pediatrics truly solidified. I just loved working with the kids–and their parents and families–because you're really treating the whole family.
What brings me joy as a physician is getting to be there for so many life stages. Connecting with the different ages through well visits, sick visits, seeing how kids grow and develop, I just love everything about it.
Being a parent myself has taught me to be a better listener and made me realize there is no one right way to do things. It's given me a deeper understanding of the complexity of balancing life with children, so I want to have a very open relationship with the families. My goal for each visit is to devote time to them in a way that is loving and caring. We are working together to help their child develop to their full potential and help them through the challenges in life.
