Inpatient Consults and Transfers

The Transfer Center at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is standing by to help with inpatient consultations and inter-facility transfers.

Our team of communication specialists and transfer center RNs are standing by 24/7 to assist in expediting neonatal, pediatric or obstetrical consultations and transfers through one efficient point of access.

If you are a physician and need assistance with a patient transfer and/or to speak directly to a physician regarding the patient you are referring, please call (650) 723-7342.

Please have the following information available when you call:

• Patient’s name
• Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford medical record number (if known)
• Date of birth
• Diagnosis
• Referring physician phone number, name of facility/hospital, and patient location
• Fax sheet available for faxing upon request

The Admitting Department will be notified of your patient's pending admission.

Parents/responsible parties will be asked to come to Admitting to sign required admission documents.

International patients

Our International Medical Services (IMS) program offers special services for your patient and their families who are coming from outside the United States for care within the Stanford Children’s Health. From appointment scheduling and interpretation services to accommodation arrangements, our IMS team is committed to making each patient's stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. To request care, please contact us by phone. We will contact you within 24 hours of receiving the completed form.
