STANFORD, Calif. — Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford has appointed Jeff Chambers to chair its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2017.
The Stanford University Board of Trustees approved his appointment on December 6, 2016. Mr. Chambers was elected to the Board of Directors of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in September 2009 and appointed Vice Chair of the Board January 2016.
“I congratulate Jeff on the appointment and look forward to continuing to work with him in this new capacity, especially given the importance of collaboration between our organizations,” said Steven A. Denning, chair of Stanford University Board of Trustees.
Chambers currently serves as Senior Advisor at TA Associates, a Boston-based private equity firm. He joined TA Associates upon graduation from Stanford in 1980 and opened its West Coast office in 1982. He became a Managing Director in 1984 and served on TA's Executive Committee from 1988 to 2010. He has served on the boards of numerous public and private company boards during his career.
He succeeds Mary Cranston, who served as chair of the Packard Children’s Board of Directors for five years. Cranston left the board at the end of December, after having served for nine years.
Cranston described Chambers as a "committed leader" of the Board of Directors.
“Jeff’s taken a leadership role on a broad range of committees and projects. He serves on the Finance Committee, Audit and Compliance Committee, Nominating and Governance Committee and Investment Committee. His contributions have made a profound impact over the past several years and I am so pleased to have him as my successor,” said Cranston.
“Jeff’s years of board service, leadership skills and child advocacy make him an exceptional chair for our board,” said Christopher G. Dawes, president and CEO of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. “We value his dedication to the Stanford community and his commitment to improving the lives of children.”
Mr. Chambers earned his BA, cum laude, in Economics from Harvard College (1976), and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (1980). In addition to serving on the board of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, he also sits on the boards for Stanford Management Company, and the Santa Lucia Preserve. He serves on the Investment Committee and Advisory Committee of Eastside Preparatory School and the Investment Committee of Sacred Heart Schools-Atherton, where he was also previously Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Chambers and his wife have two sons, both of whom graduated from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
