“My goal is to help improve my patients’ condition so they can return to the activities that bring fulfillment and joy into their life.”
As a pediatric otolaryngologist, I treat conditions dealing with the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. My field encompasses so many of the ways we perceive the world: smell, taste, hearing, breathing. So much of who we are and how we interpret and relate to the world comes through the areas of the body that I treat.
Because many of the patients I see are preverbal, I rely heavily on working together with their parents as a team. They provide me with critical information and observations about their child’s condition. I see a child during his or her visit, but the parents are always with the child. So, it’s critical that I have a close working relationship with the families I see.
My goal is to help improve my patients’ condition so they can return to the activities that bring fulfillment and joy into their life. Being able to treat a child’s condition, whether it’s breathing difficulties or recurrent ear infections, is incredibly rewarding.
