Pediatrics
"Listening is key. I make an effort to really hear what the kids are telling me."
During my time as a youth field hockey coach, I loved watching kids grow, learn, and play. This is when I knew I wanted to work with kids. It was the obvious choice to combine my passion for nurturing young people and healing in a service-driven field like health care. Pediatrics offers a special opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families during the most formative years of their lives.
Listening is key. I make an effort to really hear what kids are telling me, relate to them, and take time to understand their stories. This approach helps us build a connection and trust that translates into the patient room. I aim to set a collaborative tone with the family where we all share the same goal: the health and well-being of their child. It is rewarding to care for kids and be inspired by their innocence, creativity, and resilience every day.
