"I make it a point to engage directly with the children."
My favorite aspect of my work is being present from the very beginning, witnessing the arrival of newborns and then watching them as they grow. It’s a privilege to experience and support them and their families throughout their journey. I really enjoy building that bond. One of the biggest rewards of my job is caring for the children of my own patients. It creates this beautiful circle of care that I find incredibly fulfilling.
Having raised three children of my own has undoubtedly influenced my approach. It has made me a more attentive listener. Since I’ve experienced every stage from newborns and toddlers to the chaotic high school and college years, it’s easier for me to empathize with parents, understand their concerns and worries, and provide meaningful support and suggestions.
I seek to build a partnership with parents. I am always ready to return their calls, offer a listening ear, and provide advice. During appointments, I make it a point to engage directly with the children; they are the focal point of the visit. I get to know their preferences and make sure they feel heard.
