Pediatrics
" I value active listening with attentiveness at an unhurried pace."
A significant part of what I do in pediatrics is encourage children to take charge of their own health, to build good habits that will serve them well for their whole lives. It’s important to establish healthy choices and habits while kids are young. I prioritize preventative medicine, not only addressing illness when it’s already harming the body.
I value active listening, approaching everyone—parents and children—with attentiveness at an unhurried pace. Kids tell it how it is; they are typically genuine, and I love that about them. Even when sick, kids are earnest and resilient. They want to be active partners in their care and get better. And this is what makes what I do so rewarding.
I’ve chosen not to be a high-volume doctor. Instead, I have longer appointment times to better engage with patients and families. I get to know kids well, and my door is full of pictures that my patients have drawn for me. Cultural respect is another key aspect of my practice, and I appreciate the diversity of families in the Bay Area, coming from different backgrounds, family structures, and parts of the world.
